After three kills, Mai was gearing up to get her fourth. At the rate that she was going, she would have eliminated her entire competition in a day. Feeling pretty invincible, she went to stalk out her target’s classroom, she did not anticipate another person lurking around stalking her.

As an experienced MASAssin, Thanh knew how to play this game. Even though her target had no more classes for the day, that was no problem for Thanh. Since her target, Mai, was on such a killing spree today, Thanh knew that her target would be looking for more. Connecting the chain of MASAssins, Thanh figured out where Mai would most likely be next. Hiding behind a tower and using windows as mirrors, Thanh saw her target come. Moving around a column, she noticed her target wedged between a bush and two benches. With nowhere left for her target to run, Thanh moved in for the MASAssination, proving that no MASAssin can be invincible.

Throughout the day, Mai Khuong was going on a MASAssination spree. It seemed no one could stop her as she notched three kills in the span of two hours. This is the story of her victims:

As Jessica finished class at Solis, her mind was not entirely focuses on MASAssins. BIG MISTAKE. As she heard running, she turned around and a fleeting thought came to her. She realized that today was double kill Monday, and she would be a casualty of it.

Being done with classes, Jody thought she was going to be safe. Chilling with her classmates near Subway, she picked up a phone call. It was her roommate, Kathleen. Hearing that her roommate forgot her key, Jody quickly told Kathleen that she was in Price Center. BIG MISTAKE. A while later, she was MASAssinated. With a final turn to see who was her killer, Jody heard her MASAssin killer apologize, ‘I’m sorry. Katheleen’s not coming.’ Who could have known? After being killed by her Big last year, Jody was once again a victim of betrayal.

Walking out of her Econ class, Josephine did not think she would be a target. She took a brief note of her surroundings and thought no one was waiting for her. BIG MISTAKE. If she would have looked a bit more carefully, she would have seen her MASAssin killer hurrying towards her to get her third kill of the day.

For Gerry Chen, his target proved to be quite elusive. From phony phone calls, to 7 failed MASAssination attempts, this MASAssins game seemed to be more of a comedy show of him being incapable of killing his target. Finally, waking up early in the morning, Gerry waited outside his target’s classroom. As his target arrived, she retorted ‘About Time’ to him. Alas, Gerry was able to get the kill. For Gerry, this comedic chase turned out to be more of bad comedy because it seemed as if the MASAssin was being played around with by his own victim.

Voice of a Victim?:
“Honestly she was in the same boat as Lawrence (who was now double dealing) and Hao (who was so unobservant he was an easy target in the beginning). After a week of casual lunches in PC, long walks to class, and nothing rather special, her two chums were down and out just leaving one lunch buddy still casually in the game. She heard rumors of her chingu putting forth efforts to kill her but the hit never came. Then one day she received a text:

‘Chingu, I got killed by Gerry.’

Gerry was somewhat of a more formidable opponent in that she at least got to see his efforts

1) Used high pitched voice to try and buy a crush bottle and personally retrieve it.
Her response, ‘Is this you Gerry?’
Him: ‘I don’t know a Gerry. My name is Joey.’
Her: ‘I’m not stupid.’
Him: ‘You saw right through my plan.’

2) Tried to get Lisa Ke to call her out saying ‘Vinson Ye was looking for you.’
In-Kathy’s-mind: ‘I’m pretty sure Vinson Ye wouldn’t go around looking for me. Because if he has time to get someone to call me and look for me, that means he has time to do MORE work for FUSION. I would assign him more work…so this is another kill attempt.’ Plus she was off-campus doing FUSION Sponsorship with Monica.

3) Her super cool little Jeanie warned her about the set up to kill her at the shuttle waiting area for Sixth College’s semi-formal. Vinson Chen graciously drove their party to the semiformal instead.

4) It was a lovely Monday morning, no clouds in the blue blue sky. Discussing the probability of getting their midterm back with Narady and Vinson C., she pauses as Vinson announces that he sees her killer. Gerry is sitting on the bench in front of her classroom door. There is more than just one entrance to her class. If she wanted she could’ve taken one of the two other back routes. But she decided this game had been surprisingly dragged on long enough. She walked up to her killer and scoffed, ‘It’s about time.’ Gerry grinned at finally achieving his kill, apologizing briefly for his stalkerish tendencies, ‘Have a nice day.’

And she was dead.”

“I wanted to died. Dead in my own style, but no…my killer refused to give me such a luxury. She had even told me that she only would kill out of convenience. I should have known that my death was impending, watching another MASAssin die before my eyes, minutes before I did. Turning around for another bite of birthday cake, I hear, ‘I’m sorry Judy, but I want to kill Mai more.’

I should have known better than to tell anyone. Never trust anyone in this game.”

Taking a short break from his physics lab, Justin went to find his target. While looking for anyone remotely similar to Theresa, he could only spot a girl holding hands with another guy. Asking her if she was Theresa, Justin was ready for the kill. After seeing her realize her mistake, they fought valiantly outside York. Alas, Justin had the upper hand and the kill as Theresa’s friend watched it all happen on the sideline.

MASAssins State of Mind:


“So this was like my fourth major attempt.
I always meant to go to his mmw discussion classes but they were at 8 AM!!
I couldn’t wake up even though I tried to twice.. >< haha
So on Monday, I went to his poli sci class. which is aaaallllllllllllllll the way in center only to find out that it was canceled that day. ugh.
So then I went on Wednesday to the same class.
I even snuck in the back and was looking through the students, but whether he was there or not, I couldn’t find him. another failure.
Finally another chance! Today I went to his MMW lecture and waited outside his class for like 20 minutes. He was one of the last to come out. Stupidly I approached him awkwardly with the name tag in my hand. He noticed me and screamed and ran away. I was in shock and didn’t chase him, so I was planning to give up for today and went to ovt with my roommate, but then my friend from erc called me and told me my target was eating at cafe v!”

After many failed attempts. Justin was determined to make this kill. Looking inconspicuous in his black hoody, Justin thought he would get his target.

Unfortunately, his target spotted her killer in black outside her classroom. Staying inside, she started to talk to her killer for a good 20 minutes. Eventually realizing she had to go meet her mom, she gave in and was MASAssinated. Good to know that MASAssins can be friends!

MASAssins State of Mind:


“So my day started out like any other day until I bumped into MASAssin God, Willis. So I gave him a hug and was about to find Jennifer, the other MASAssin God, but I had to go to class. Right after class, I rushed to PC to find Jen and give her a hug and was able to obtain a safety. While sitting in PC, I meet a shady character who had information to tell me. At first I was hesitant to kill because he was my big, but then I found out he killed his little. So not much trust there. Within an hour Eric will be arriving by bus on campus. I staked out behind a bush and opened my laptop to see the live tracking for the Hillcrest Bus. The first bus came but no sign of Eric. So I waited for another 30 minutes for the next bus. I see a short boy with glasses. At first I wasn’t sure but then I saw him walking towards me. I quickly put away my laptop and got out my sticker. I was literally 5 feet away from me but he didn’t notice me. Right when I was about to tag him, he turned and started sprinting. I chased Eric uphill until I caught up with him and tagged him out. Sorry Big!

After killing Eric I had an adrenaline rush and wanted to kill more. So I waited outside Center Hall at Stephen’s next class but I guessed he ditched because he was no where to be seen. I then decided to wait at his next class at Peterson. I had help from my Big and an ex-God, and they told me which exit Stephen was coming out from and I rushed there and tagged him ‘Gotcha!’”

After killing Stephen, Linda decided to meet up with her “friends” at PC. She was quite happy with my success so far that day. However, once she met them, they told her to run. Being confused as to who she was running from, her friend pointed a finger at a girl. Thinking it was her target, she ran to this girl. Without realizing what she had done, Linda ended up running to her MASAssination instead. EPIC FAIL.

Reanna was frustrated. After many failed attempts, her target either was one step ahead of her, or she was just not in class. Either way, Reanna was going for the kill tonight. Asking help of her big, she stalked out Keri’s class in Center. After receiving word from her friend, she ran around Center to find her target. Keri, unknowingly, waved after seeing a MASAssin God… That wave would help Reanna zone in on her target.

After a failed attempt at a kill the night before, Mai Khuong was in full attack mode. Sure, her speed may not be the best, but she makes up for that with her stalker skills and in staying incognito. After a near encounter with being MASAssinated, Mai felt the adrenaline kick in and went for her kill. She did the proper stalking procedures. Noticing her victim had two bodyguards, Mai hid behind a tall person and got close. After reaching her strike area, Mai attacked and did not fail this time.

“She was looking for me since yesterday in my music lecture but she couldn’t find me because I didn’t go to class. (hehe..) So she stalked me outside of my chem discussion class. After discussion, I was making a return call to my mom and I heard my name. So I turned around and she… hm. how should i put it. she had this really gleeful expression on her face as she ran — no, charged — at me. I screamed, hung up on my mom but before I had a chance to hold my book up, I realized I was already dead. :[.

what can I say? my MASAssin was a horrifying lethal person. watch out as she starts her serial killings.

just a side note though — it’s a wise idea to have your phone off during battles — or you might give other people heart attacks too.”

“Before attending her evening class, Melanie and her friends decided to grab dinner at OVT. As Melanie was finishing her meal, she noticed Vinson Ye from the opposite end of the cafeteria. He walked by the trashcans, looked at her, and sat back down to talk to someone who she did not know of. Vinson and the girl, who she later finds out is her killer, Lisa Ke, looked directly at Melanie. Melanie turned to her friend Angeline and said, “Vinson looks suspicious, but he’s dead. Who’s she?” Blank-mindedly, both Angeline and Melanie waved at Vinson. Then Lisa got up. Melanie pushed her chair back. Lisa ran over. Melanie cornered herself by jumping underneath the table instead of running out the door. Lisa got underneath the table. Melanie got out and jumped on the table. She was stuck between hungry college students, her friends, and her killer. Her friends were trying to protect her but she was cornered. Everyone at OVT was watching them like a TV drama, but both Lisa and Melanie could care less of the show they were putting on. Their eyes—focused on each other. Melanie and Lisa continued to crawl underneath tables, jump on tables, and climb across chairs. Unfortunately for Melanie, Lisa finally caught Melanie. She died…underneath a table.”

Realizing her next target was a classmate of hers, Julie was extremely disappointed that she didn’t get him earlier. She went to Center Hall to stalk him. Unfortunately, being distracted by one of Kevin’s friends, Kevin was able to enter his class. Coming back an hour and 15 minutes later, Julie was dumbfounded as to why she could not find her target. Almost giving up, her friend suddenly spotted Kevin who was by the bike rack. Julie started the chase. Dashing towards Kevin, she realized he was trying to bike away. Grabbing her sticker out, she ripped the backing, grabbed his backpack and made sure the tag stuck on the shoulder.

“After happily indulging in my exquisite panini from Farmer’s Market, I headed towards PC East to get my cup of not-so-morning coffee. I see our MASA president and, as a dutiful staff member, I approached her and began my salute. However, our very own leader decided to betray me and ran towards me with a wicked expression.

I panicked.

Upon realizing that she was set out to kill, she initiated an epic chase that resulted in the two of us facing off at the top of the Student Services Center.

The gravel under my feet crunched as I got closer to the edge of the roof. I could smell my death nearing me.

She lunged, and I saw flashes of happy MASA memories…finally with the last vision of betrayal by my very own friend…and then darkness consumed me…”

Eric woke up at noon wondering if he should go for the kill. Realizing time was running out, he decided to make the move. Rushing to campus, Eric was by Warren Lecture Halls at 12:30PM. As his target’s class started to come out, he began to feel worried. In the mass of people, Eric found his target and let him walk past. Calling out Henry’s name to verify, his target turned around and Eric simultaneously made the tag.

10:47AM – 11:00AM

Lawrence was tired of living (in MASAssins). But apparently, making himself entirely visible, walking the same pathways every day wasn’t enough to entice his killer out to get him. No, not even a broadcasted message to many MASAssins that he would be sleeping in Geisel, in the SSH section, on the comfy chairs when you walk into the area was enough to bring about his death. Not even opening telling people he wanted to die was enough. Sigh. When you want to die, it never happens.

Then, a shady member of MASA staff approached him. Being at FUSION meeting, there wasn’t a chance that this could be Lawrence’s lucky day, but curious, he approached the shadowy figure.
“So I hear you want to die?”
Apparently, the MASAssin gods were great! They had bestowed upon him the chance of a lifetime, to not only die, but to die EPICALLY.
“Yes!” replied Lawrence, clearly excited at the fact that finally, someone had approached him. But how to do it? On the top of Geisel? AP&M? In the alley next to the La Jolla Strip Club? Get while napping in Geisel? Always with a fascination of high places, the top of the student service center was chosen.
“So Monday, at 12pm, we’ll meet up there, and you can kill me,” he said to Starkeisha. And so it was arranged.

Monday. This was the day. After the flyering duties as a staff member, Lawrence awaited his death in the bright sunlight. However, the mood was darkened at once by a text which read “Sorry, I died”. Starkeisha had been off’d by the then still green homicidal maniac, Lisa Ke. How hard is it to get yourself killed in this game?? So much for planning, Lawl thought to himself as he grew sad at the prospect of dying in some lame way, perhaps while eating his ham and cheese sandwich with an apple at lunchtime. Though not all was lost at this point. Lisa got the message from someone. Lawl received another text: “So I hear you want to arrange your death?”

The sky was bright again. But how to do it? The same plan? High places? Nah, too easy. Too boring, he thought. An epic death requires… multiple deaths! With this in mind, and a few texts later, the plan was set.

Tuesday, 10:47am, HSS 2152
Suzy, through the grapevine, had heard something was going down today. A single message of “Watch out today” from her big put her on high alert. But she didn’t suspect Lawl. After all, didn’t he say he had Kalon? Sneaking out of class slightly early, wary of her surroundings, she emerged from the room.
“Suzy!” Lawl spoke from behind the door. Suzy noticeably jumped. Afraid at first, but placated with the lie that Lawl wasn’t her killer, she relaxed a bit and allowed him to come closer. A sudden grip around her shoulders told her she made a grave mistake.”Sorry Suzy, but you’re going to die today” spoke Lawl, as Lisa descended from the shadows.
Betrayal.
Suicide.
MASAssins.

Having your little as a target is not the easiest thing. For Eric Pham, he felt sadness right away. After talking to his little, he made the decision to go after her. At least she is expecting it. After a couple failed attempts, Eric realized three things:
1) His little seemed to not go to some classes…
2) His paranoia led to a failed attempt…
3) The one mandatory class was his best shot
After figuring these things out, Eric waited patiently outside of Lillian’s mandatory Chinese class. After Eric saw her exit, he made his MASAssination attempt. Following a failed tag, some jumping, and a scream, Eric finally managed to MASAssinate his target.

3:30PM

Hao Wang was sitting in PC East. He was absolutely certain no one would hurt him. Why? Because he was THE HAO WANG. You don’t need any more reason than that. Deciding his “HAOWANGNESS” was as good as a safety, Hao decided to study out in the open.

Kalon received a text telling her where her target was. After initially sending out a scout, she soon realized that if she was going to MASAssinate Hao Wang, THE HAO WANG, she would definitely need to do it swiftly. Sneaking up behind him, she didn’t hesitate MASAssinating Hao Wang.

1:56PM

Brian Phu normally goes to class on a different route and enters WLH on the side door, but today his friends wanted to walk with him to class so he just went the regular way. As he approached WLH he turned around and saw Tobias Dong conspicuously hiding behind a wall, which prompted him to walk faster. The next time he turned around, Tobias was next to him. Tobias then said to him, “Have you seen Julie?” Realizing that this was an obvious fake distraction and that he was the real target, Brian started to run, with Tobias chasing after him. After running quite some distance, Brian got tired and tried to block Tobias with his backpack. After several attempts Tobias finally tagged Brian on his shirt.

Kim was paranoid. Knowing her killer was out there and that there was really no safety this day, she tried to stay inconspicuous. In her chemistry class of over 500 students or so, she was sure to stay hidden among the masses. As she was walking to her next class in Solis, she also tried blending in with the crowd, walking with three of her friends. Hearing a somewhat familiar voice shout her name, she didn’t expect her killer to be there. As she turned around, she realized her mistake. She tried to block, but in the end, Griffin emerged victorious.

From the victim:
A warning for all those still alive: This praiseworthy guy is DE-TER-MINED. No class is too far to intimidate him, and not knowing what you look like will not deter him, for he is not embarrassed of calling out your name into an ocean of unknown faces nor of tagging the wrong person. Beware!

Kathleen was oblivious to everything this day. Rushing to her midterm, she saw a fellow MASAssin. Realizing she could be the target but preoccupied with studying her notes, she dismissed the threat. This however, proved to be a fatal mistake. As Lisa moved in, Kathleen was tagged, proving that anyone can be a threat in the game of MASAssins.

Waiting in line, Christian Castillo wondered if he should take heed of his friend’s warning earlier. Dismissing the warning as little more than a jest, Christian proceeded to think about what to order instead. Out of nowhere, Alex Yang appeared and lightly placed the tag on Christian’s back exclaiming, “I got you.” Thinking it was just a joke, Christian looked at his back but to his amazement there it was, the dreadful tag. Stay wary of your surroundings MASAssins because you never know when you will be BACKTAGGED!

You’ve heard of the phrase “the early bird gets the worm” but here in MASA, it’s actually “the early MASAssin gets the kill.” While most of us were still sleeping in our warm beds or coming back from a crazy party the night before (you party animals), Nancy Quach was already on the move.

Cindy Trang was another person who was up and about early on a Sunday morning. She was on her way to a Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) community service event to clean up the streets of El Cajon. Thinking most people in MASAssins would sleep in, Cindy did not expect to find someone who had been waiting for her for half an hour at the Sun God Parking Lot.

One valuable tip for MASAssin: Perservance. Theresa Dinh may be the most persistent MASAssin we have ever seen. She seems to be striking utter fear in the hearts of her targets. Her latest victim, Neda Shenavai, who had been seriously sleep deprived from the past week. Perhaps Theresa’s persistence was a factor in Neda’s exhaustion. More MASAssins can learn to be like Theresa if they study her killing technique:

In the mind of a killer:
I’d been trying to masassinate Neda for the last 3 days. On Friday, I saw her in Plaza Cafe and was about to tag her when I saw that she had her safety on. As I ate I watched her from afar hoping that she would take off her sweater which had her MASA sign affixed to it. Sadly, after almost three hours, I resigned to defeat, and left Plaza.

The next day, I waited for her in her common room so I could get her when she comes out. After almost an hour of waiting, I hear, “Hey Neda!” I pop up and persue her down the hall tagging her– She lets out a squeal full of shock. I leave her apartment and was about to go home when I see her walking, and offer her a ride. It turns out that
she was on her way to Kunfusion, so I got her name tag back and had to try again. D:

It’s now Sunday and I thought I’d give it another go. I make my way into her apartment complex, sneak over to her room, and realize that she was not willing to come out. I go back to her Common area, and waited. Since there were people there, I figured why not ask them to get her out. I tried to bribe her suitemate in order to get her out but I failed– she couldn’t go through with it. Another person, feeling sorry for me, calls Neda and get her to come out of her room. I tag her and again she lets out another squeal. Finally… Target Down.

Letting your guard down: This is the one thing that allows most MASAssins to get caught. For Jeanie Yu, after an epic tussle on Thursday, she assumed that her MASAssin wouldn’t be lingering around for the weekend. She waited for a shuttle to go to the music building, but since it took too long, she decided to walk instead. Passing Goodys Marketplace, Jeanie soon realized that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Keri was devastated after her extremely close attempt at a kill on Thursday. It seemed as if luck just wasn’t on her side that day. This day proved different. On the one weekend that Fusion meeting was on a Saturday, on the one weekend that KunFusion practice got pushed to a Saturday as well, on the one weekend her target decided to cross paths with her at that one particular time. Mere coincidence? Perhaps, but this time when Keri and Jeanie faced off, Keri made sure that her name tag found the mark and MASAssinated her target.

Julie Nguyen knew it was not going to be an ordinary Saturday morning. She woke up thinking she was going to go on a MASAssination spree that day and MASAssinate she did. After getting a tip from a friend about her target’s extracurricular activities, Julie proceeded to retrieve information through the most reliable source for MASAssins….FACEBOOK! Venturing off, Julie had one goal in mind.. becoming the TOP MASAssin!

It was an ordinary Saturday morning, or so Martina thought. She donned her Tzu Ching volunteer uniform, picked up her bag of plastic bottles, and headed out to Peterson with her beloved boyfriend to attend the monthly On-Campus Recycling event. Full of enthusiasm and eager to meet with the other volunteers, she gleefully chatted with her manly man as they neared Peterson Loop. First to spot her was her upperclassman fellow volunteer and close friend Amy, who had coincidentally just finished conversing with two mysterious girls, one of which was holding a name tag. Amy rushed over to greet Martina, ignorant of the convenient distraction she was currently providing for them. Seizing this opportunity, the two slowly drifted past Amy and caught their target unaware, tagging her with the lethal name tag of doooooooom and despair. Martina’s face shifted from happiness to surprise to frustration then finally, sadness. Her dreams of making it to the top were over, and she had only her failure of a boyfriend/bodyguard to thank. Him, and the former kunFusion Coordinator/ guy with lots and lots of curly, black hair who had tipped her killer off.

A Masassin was spotted on a beautiful Saturday afternoon inside the Solis building waiting for his target to come out of a review. His target stepped out of the door. She looked around and accidentally made eye contact with possibly her killer; a suspicious both-hands-in-his-pocket-and-wandering-eyes kind of guy. His target and her friends needed to use the restroom, so they rushed into the one at Solis before he could make a run after her. One of her friends left the restroom to check if the Masassin was still around. Sure enough, he was waiting anxiously across the girls’ restroom for her to come out. 15 minutes passed. Then 5 minutes later, his target and her friend heard chairs and tables being shuffled around the hall. They overheard a lady speaking from outside the restroom, “Can I help you with anything?” Then, only mumbles. All of a sudden, the target’s phone rang. Her other friend tells her, “Get out of the restroom! Go out the other way, NOW!” With no patience and hesitation, the target and her friends made a run for it. Reaching Peterson, the target sees her killer… setting up a UCSD sign at the corner of Marshall for the janitor. It’s good to know that the Masassin is a good citizen. ATTEMPT FAIL.

Alliances… who needs those. Blaming ‘luck’ as a reason for failing to MASAssinate his target earlier, Vinson Ye hoped his luck would change and quickly accepted an invitation to hang out that night . Meeting up with a couple of friends as well, Vinson Ye quickly noticed his target without her safety. Debating on whether to MASAssinate now or after 12AM, Vinson Ye decided to do it sooner rather than later. So, after ordering food, Vinson Ye decided to send a message to all MASAssins by MASAssinating Carol.

“Sorry, Carol, but here’s a lesson I want to teach you. Never trust anyone in MASAssins.”

Eating dinner. Talking with friends. Planning an ambush. All normal things every MASAssin does. Luckily for Timothy Yu, his victim was sitting nearby at the moment as well. Knowing a safety was intact this day, he sent a friend to see whether or not his victim was wearing a safety. Having her safety concealed under her jacket, Tim quickly realized that she was vulnerable for the kill. Unexpectedly, his victim started to run away. Bad mistake. He saw that the doors to exit OVT were closed due to patio damage. With no place left to go for his victim, he swiftly MASAssinated his target.

Martina wasn’t expecting to see her target today. And even if she happened to come across her prey, there was still the safety granted by the Gods to consider. Before heading out from her apartment, she made a last minute decision to stuff the nametag into her bag anyway, “Just in case…”, she thought. She hopped into the car and went to meet the other members of Tzu Ching at their agreed location in front of Croutons. Five minutes later, as the car pulled around the corner, Martina’s heart started pounding with excitement and anticipation. There on the driveway of Croutons, preparing to step out of the car, was her target, oblivious and unaware of the impending danger she was about to face! And Jackie was not wearing her safety. This was her chance. It was either she get her hands dirty now or she’d have to wait over the weekend to strike – that is, if she would even survive the weekend…After the cars pulled into the parking structure of the Mesa Residential Apartments, Martina stepped out of the car and extended her arms to give her target a warm hug. The target reciprocated the hug, unaware that that was the last hug she would be giving as a MASAssin…

Being inconspicuous was one thing that Brian Phu wanted to do. Don’t want anyone noticing me. After missed opportunities the previous day, Brian wanted to try and get his target one more time. Looking around, he noticed a Philip Pan hiding behind a pillar, seemingly going after his target as well. Not wanting to let his guard down, but still looking to get a kill, Brian saw his target Lily exit her class. Not wearing a safety. Good. Heheh… A few seconds later, her fatal mistake was a kill for this MASAssin.

UGHHHHH Masashi was extremely exhausted after an early morning of making spam musubi. Noticing his self-made safety was ugly, he refused to put it on himself. There’s no one around, anyway. Letting his guard down, he sat under a tree and decided to read a book before class.

UGHHHHH Justin Yong was extremely exhausted from writing a polisci paper the night before. Realizing his victim had an early class, Justin decided to see if he could get a kill. After arriving at Warren, he noticed his victim studiously reading a book, vulnerable to everyone around him. This stealthy MASAssin quickly snuck behind his victim and tagged his target in the face.
Stay strong MASAssins. You never know what will hit you when you leave your guard down.

Hunger: the body’s way of telling you that you need some food in your stomach. It’s one of the many fascinating mechanisms in the greatest machine known to man, the human body. When you are hungry, your stomach talks to you in the form of a growl, sometimes during the most embarrassing and most uncomfortable of times i.e. a quiet room with other people. It’s a way to ensure your survival because your body needs nutrients to break down and transform into energy. It’s ironic though that for Amy Kha, the cause of hunger actually led to her downfall, for she was unaware that Theresa Dinh was waiting for the perfect moment to strike with all her might. The moment came when Amy succumbed to her hunger and went to Cafe Ventanas to get some food, her first and last mistake…

Theresa Dinh’s POV: (Attempt #1) Heading over to the victim’s Chinese class, I was about to initiate my first kill. But wait! I dropped her name tag somewhere. I ran back to get it, but by that time, my victim’s class had already ended…and she had disappeared. FAIL!!!

Amy Kha’s POV: After Chinese class, I carefully looked outside the door to see if there were any potential MASAssins waiting for me. After witnessing a MASAssination before my eyes, I was extremely cautious before taking my first steps out of my safe zone. Several people waiting outside gave me weird stares, but I was too careful to care. Seeing that it was clear, I ran out, intent to get back to my dorm as quickly as possible. Spying another MASAssin, I quickly hid behind a pillar before she could see me, but she caught me anyways. “I got my first kill!!” she exclaimed. “Am I your target?” I asked. “No, you’re not.” And on we go…

Theresa’s POV: (Attempt #2) I had checked my victim’s Facebook before I left to kill her. Her status had said that she might skip her lecture in order to catch up on homework or sleep. I still wasn’t sure. Was it a ruse to throw me off? I had to know. Checking her schedule, I saw that she had a three hour lecture at Center. I sat outside her classroom, waiting for the time when she would come out. At 7:50pm, I hid, anxiously awaiting her departure. However, no one came out. Frustrated, I stayed for another ten minutes before people slowly filtered out the door. Victim was not spotted. FAIL!!!

Amy’s POV: After Chinese, I was too tired to go anywhere. I had the feeling that my MASAssin would be waiting outside my last lecture today…but I was too tired to go anyways. Being deprived of sleep for the past few days, I decided that it was a great time for a NAP!!!

Theresa’s POV (Attempt #3) After two failed attempts, I was determined to get my victim. I remembered that she was in the “Europe Hall” group on Facebook, so I waited outside the building on the slim chance that she would come out. “Ahhh…there she is.” At approximately 8:30pm, my poor victim stepped out of her safe zone to head to Cafe V. I saw her looking around for potential MASAssins, so I laid low, waiting for my chance. At Cafe V, she paused, only relaxing when she didn’t see any MASAssins. As soon as she turned to get some water, I ran up to her. She tensed as soon as soon as she saw me. “Hi Amy!!” *SLAP*…and she was dead. SUCCESS!!!!!

The Ultimate MASAssins are not only stealthy and cunning, they are also masters of disguise, much like Timothy Yu. He successfully infiltrated a Cambodian Student Association (CSA) GBM and killed his target with such ease. Timothy had done his research using his special resources, aka… FACEBOOK. He studied his target and his target’s friends and was able to come to the conclusion that Narady Heng was going to be at the CSA meeting. He was right. Narady, treasurer of CSA, would definitely be there. Timothy had fooled Narady into thinking that he was just a new innocent member joining CSA. Timothy checked to see if he was staring his target right in the eyes. After confirming Narady’s identity, Timothy killed his target with a slap in the chest. Trust no one for they might be Timothy Yu, in disguise…

An epic battle between two MASAssins ensued after the completion of a certain MMW discussion class. The intended victim was walking out of her class when she suddenly realized a stone cold MASAssin was heading her way. The intended victim sent two friends out to block her. Maneuvering around for 45 minutes, this showdown moved from ERC to Marshall. In a last ditch attempt, the killer almost got her name tag on her target. Unfortunately for her, the name tag touched her target but fell and was subsequently lost. Giving up on the lost name tag, the killer let her intended victim off the hook for the day, and immediately went to find a MASAssin God to obtain a new name tag. It’s not over yet, the killer thought.

Hmph! No mutual friends either. Facebook was definitely a bust. After rummaging through the list of tips on the MASAssins website, Carol finally gave up and simply resorted to good old fashion class stalking. Her continued perseverance would eventually pay dividends. Upon reaching York, she waited and asked some people whether her target was still in lab. Her target was. Heheh.. Carol thought. You are totally terminated.

Jennifer Kuang was still concentrating on her lab at that time. At the end of her lab, she was excited about finally being done for the day. As she walked out, she heard someone call her name. Yes, she replied before turning around. Not realizing what was going on until it was too late, a name tag was slapped on her, effectively killing her in MASAssins.
?! Disappointed from being killed, Jennifer’s day truly ended after handing over her target to Carol.

So I was walking to my class in York and I heard someone call my name. I saw two dark shadows in the horizon and I got worried for a split second, then I realized that I was a MASAssin GOD and they could not touch me. So all was well again. I walked closer towards the figures and it turned out to be 2 MASAssins waiting for their victims to go to class. They pointed to another MASAssin who was standing in the shadow of a tree, also awaiting his target. I think I had just walked into a MASAssin’s worst nightmare. Not one, not two, but THREE suspicious MASAssins waiting outside your classroom. There’s no telling which one might be after you. My class was starting soon so I let them be. A few mintues later as my class was beginning to start, I received a text from one of the MASAssins, “I killed her.” Definitely not a text you would want to have on your cell phone for everyone to see.

Annie Lei was trying her best not to look like herself. Spending an hour curling her hair, putting on make-up, and wearing a white dress, you would think she was going to go to a dance rather than play this dangerous game of MASAssins. After Japanese class, Annie sent out her friends to scout the area for MASAssins. After hearing a loud shriek telling her to go, she instinctively tried to run, but her uncomfortable shoes held her back….’OH NO!’ She thought. Why did my friend have to shout so loud…. Giving up on running, she decided to defend herself with her laptop instead.

Annie’s killer, Jeanie, wasn’t afraid though. Jeanie was willing to run her down. Even though Annie’s laptop hit her accidentally, she was able to successfully kill her target. Be on the lookout MASAssins cause Jeanie is out for more kills today, and remember she’ll chase you down and be more than willing to take a few hits in the process.

“As the last of the mascara brushed upon my lashes, I look to the mirror in my bathroom. Done. Hopefully no one would recognize me. An hour of curling hair and massive make-up to hide behind. A dress and a bag. Who would expect me to wear such girly clothes? The only chance of being caught now was if the person by chance was part of masa last year or went to kf practices. I took my chances. I grabbed my laptop and bag and start walking in those uncomfortable shoes to my first class in HSS: Japanese. One door, one room, one way out. Asking the help of my friends, Krystal and Kelsey, I hope to get through this day unscathed. 3:20 class is over. I go through the door. Hopefully no one can recognize me. Krystal goes out through the other hallway. I see her run back infront of me. “RUN!” but I couldn’t. I couldn’t run in these stupid shoes. Unconsciously thinking, why did you have to yell Krystal… I see her. I tried to pretend I’m not freaked out, trying to make my way to my next class without being noticed. Did not help though that both friends were talking loudly about me running around me…love you guys!!! …it’s too late. The gig was up. Why bother trying to hurt myself running but with a last ditch attempt as she sprints to me, in her cap and shady clothes, I block with my laptop. “You wouldn’t hurt your laptop would you?!” she yells over the blocking. Oh hell yea I would. Ahh.. but it was futile I knew. If only chance was by my side and the sticker stuck to my laptop. Chance died a horrible, murderous death. She struck and there it was…that treacherous sticker mocking me with my failure….right on my upper left arm…it was over… “Why are you wearing a dress?” it was my disguise… Krystal beside me says “What kind of disguise is this?!” it was my plan of hiding in plain sight…sigh I’ll wear the wig next time…”

Christina Kim was just grabbing a quick meal. Already such a long, tiring day for her, she thought a nice meal at Café V should serve to satisfy her hunger. Unfortunately for her, a starving MASAssin was looking to satisfy her hunger as well… with a kill. As Christina was enjoying her lunch, Josephine quickly ran to Café V and tagged her, feeling much fuller from a good kill.

Annie was trying to be incognito. MMW section was next for her. Suddenly, she noticed Julie and Branden at vendor fair. After greeting them, she got distracted for a second by people shouting, “SPAM MUSUUUUUBI” in her face. Unfortunately, that was enough of a distraction for Thanh to run and tag her. Take advantage of your chances MASAssins! That is a key to winning this game.

Hours from her last kill, Mai Khuong, was itching for some more blood. We warned you, do not underestimate her. When will people learn from others’ mistakes. She has made the 1st and 2nd kills of the game. Will anyone be able to stop her killing rampage? Perhaps if we looked into the mind of the lean mean MASAssin killing machine as she located her next target, David Jiang, 4th year from Revelle. Maybe then, more people will know not to let their guards down.

She seemed nervous and took a couple steps back. She didn’t have me, but I did have to convince her that I didn’t have her. lol Took her a quite of persuading, but she let her guard down. lol Anyway, sure enough, 1:50 came rolling around and his class was let out. I could see him out of the corner of my eye. He was waiting around in class doing something. *sigh* I’ll wait a little longer. He walked out the door, BAM. David Jiang didn’t stand a chance. XP”

Ying Sun, 2nd year from Revelle, still had not received her target yet. She wasn’t even allowed to live for one day because her highly experienced killer was merciless.

Ahhh yes… Ying Sun’s killer… Mai Khoung… yes, yes. We’ve heard much about this MASAssin. Small and innocent she may look but weak and powerless, she is not. Do not underestimate her for she has taken her first victim, the first victim of the game, and she is hungry for more. Mai waited outside for an hour before her victim’s class even let out in case her prey decided to leave class early and run. She was growing impatient but her instincts told her to wait just a little bit longer and it paid off because out walked poor Ying Sun, not knowing her doom was right around the corner. Stunned and confused, Ying didn’t know what happened. That’s what happens when you don’t keep your guard up, especially when you have skilled MASAssins like Mai Khoung, running around campus. MASAssins like her will ruthlessly take you out, and you won’t even know what hit you.
